Ian Terry
Chief Executive Officer
Ian holds a Bachelor of Business Degree (Accounting), is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD).
Ian joined Phoenix Society as Chief Executive Officer in 1991. Under Ian’s leadership, Phoenix has proven itself to be a leader in the field of disability employment through innovation in Quality, Safety, and Wage models. Phoenix has been recognised for its pro-activeness in developing employment opportunity and growth for people with a disability.
During Ian’s tenure Phoenix has increased employment numbers of people with a disability from 250 to 500 and now operates over 6 independent sites including Whyalla “ensuring that we can take jobs to the people”.
In his role as CEO Ian has continued to support Australia’s disability industry peak body, National Disability Services (NDS), having served 17 years as a State Committee Member as well as 3 years as Chairman while serving as a National Board Member. Ian has also served on a number of industry working groups.
Phoenix is a member of Workability International (WI) and Ian is the current Chairman of the Oceania region (WIO). He is also a member of the Workability International Board and continues to further opportunities for people with a disability internationally through his extensive experience gained at Phoenix and within the industry.
Prior to Phoenix Ian held a number of senior management positions of a financial nature predominately in the Manufacturing sector.
Ian is married to Margaret, also a very strong and influential supporter of Phoenix, and they have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Peter Clayfield
Chief Financial Officer
Peter holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree (B Ec), a Master of Business Administration (MBA), is a Fellow Certified Practising Accountant (FCPA) and an Associate of Chartered Secretaries Australia (ACSA).
Peter joined Phoenix Society as Chief Financial Officer in February 2012 after working as Financial Controller at Minda. It was during this period at Minda that he developed a strong empathy for the people who are employed in disability services, and the need to ensure that a disciplined commercial focus forms the foundation of the organisation’s long term financial sustainability.
Prior to Phoenix and Minda Peter held a number of senior management positions of a financial nature predominately in the Manufacturing sector.
Peter is married to Wendy and they have 3 children. He is Treasurer of the Aberfoyle Park Scout Group, enjoys family outings, sports, movies, and personal fitness.

Robert Styling AFSM, OAM
General Manager, Human Resources
He has degrees in Adult and Further Education and Human Resources Management, and a Graduate Diploma in Management. He is a Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute and a Justice of the Peace.
Robert joined Phoenix Society in the role of Personnel and Training Manager in 1988. Robert has been instrumental in the development of a comprehensive range of Programs for people with disabilities, which has enabled Phoenix to position itself as both a National and International consultant in disability employment programs.
He has been actively involved in NDS in both South Australia and Nationally through the ADE National and State Committees for over 15 years. He has represented NDS, the Sector and Phoenix Society on a number of advisory and reference groups to the government.
He has also undertaken significant work with an organization in Malaysia known as Persatuan Daybreak, assisting them to develop viable commercial businesses and become one of the leading disability service providers in their country. With his assistance, Daybreak has developed from a traditional sheltered workshop in Malaysia to one of the top providers of employment and training programs in its region.
Phoenix Society and Daybreak are now looking to develop a partnership with the Malaysian Government to provide better employment outcomes for people with disabilities in Malaysia.
He has been an active member of the SA Country Fire Service for nearly 40 years and currently holds the rank of Deputy Group Officer. Robert was awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) in the 2006 Australia Day Honors for distinguished service to the SA Country Fire Service and an OAM in the Australia Day Honors 2012, for service to the disability sector and the community. He has a number of other decorations from his CFS service, including a Ministerial Commendation for Meritorious and Courageous Actions.
He has been involved in both Ash Wednesday fires in South Australia and has been on a number of interstate deployments with the CFS, notably in NSW and Victoria in leadership and management roles. He is also a Director of the CFS Foundation.
He has been married to Dianne for 36 years and has 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.

Mr Geoff Brogan
General Manager, Labelling, Assembly & Engineering Services
Geoff holds a Professional Management Degree.
Geoff commenced with Phoenix Society in 1995 initially as Manager Phoenix Metering Services. After a short period, he was promoted to Facility Manager at the Torrensville division, providing positive outcomes to the employees within that site.
Geoff was instrumental in the development of the Phoenix Elizabeth site, built in 2001 which is regarded as a benchmark facility for people with disabilities and today employs 160 people with special needs.
In 2011, Geoff was appointed General Manager of Phoenix Society’s two largest Divisions, Torrensville and Elizabeth, a challenge that combines resources to maximise efficiency and it is a challenge he relishes.
Geoff came from the E&WS and has introduced modern methodologies into the Phoenix Society. Always seeking outstanding opportunities for his people that provide challenging worthwhile work, he is passionate about all his employees as they develop through their Phoenix working life.
Married to Debra, who also supports Phoenix Society, they have 2 children.

Mr Jeff Goodall
General Manager, Timber Products
Jeff commenced his trade in Carpentry & Joinery in 1973 progressing into the building and marine boat fitting industry until 1982 when he joined Phoenix. Since commencing at Phoenix Jeff has undertaken many roles supporting numerous people with intellectual and other disabilities through various employment opportunities.
In 1989 Jeff took over the management of the Gepps Cross facility when all timber sections amalgamated to one central site.
In the 23 years at Gepps Cross Jeff has implemented many significant changes in technology, reducing manual processes and improving safety standards in the work environment. During this time we have increased employee numbers through additional sales revenue creating other diverse opportunities.
It is the intention of the division to further develop opportunities for people with disabilities so they can reach their personal goals and aspirations in a commercial working environment.

John Davis
General Manager, Whyalla
John holds a certificate in front line management and has previously owned and managed his own business.
John joined Phoenix Society in 2002 as a Sales Representative based at Torrensville. With the increase in wine sales and the volume of wine moving through Torrensville’s wine section, John, along with the wine division, transferred to larger premises at Elizabeth in 2006.
In 2008 John applied for the Business Development Managers position in Whyalla and following successfully acquiring the role, John commenced work in Whyalla in October 2008.
Since transferring to Whyalla, with the assistance of the valued staff and employees, sales in Whyalla have grown substantially and the diversity of work has increased. The increase in work has brought about an increase in capital investment into Phoenix Whyalla where we have now purchased a larger embroidery machine, two new 4 door utilities and other types of machinery.
John is married to Karin who is always willing to assist Phoenix when-ever possible.

Andrew Ormandy
General Manager, Business Development
Andrew is responsible for developing relationships and business partnerships for the six commercial divisions of Phoenix Society in areas such as Mining, Defence, Government (Federal, State and Local) and other business sectors where Phoenix services can be utilised. Andrew also actively promotes collaborative partnerships with other Australian Disability Enterprises (ADE) to support national service contract opportunities.
From May 2007 to March 2011 Andrew oversaw the growth of the Phoenix Fundraising Division (now known as Phoenix Connect) through the implementation of predicative dialler technology, the expansion of third party contracts for contact centre services and the move from Torrensville to the current purpose built site within Technology Park at Mawson Lakes.
He was a member of the National Games Board for the 9th Special Olympics National Games held in Adelaide in April 2010 which was recognised as the most successful Games ever held to date.
Prior to joining Phoenix Society Andrew’s career has covered the media, Government and Corporate sectors.
Andrew grew up in Broken Hill and attended boarding school at St. Ignatius’ College Riverview (Sydney) and when his family moved to Adelaide he continued his education at St. Ignatius’ College (Athelstone). He attended the Vaughan Harvey School of Broadcasting and studied Event Management (TAFE). He is also an accredited Cricket Coach (Level 1).
Married (wife June) with two children (James and Sarah), Andrew is also involved in sports administration (Prospect District Cricket Club) as well as being an avid follower of AFL and sport in general.
Other interests include fishing, cooking (and eating!), wine and enjoying the company of family and friends.

Jane Doyle
Manager, Phoenix Connect
Jane holds a Bachelor of Business.
Jane joined Phoenix Society as the Contact Centre Manager in 2010. Under Jane’s leadership, the Contact Centre has proven itself to be a leader in the field of lotteries, with growth expansion available for alternative outbound and inbound opportunities.
During Jane’s tenure the Phoenix call centre has developed into Phoenix Connect a branded contact centre, with relocation to new premises at Mawson Lakes. New technology and system improvements are being used to drive performance and therefore maximise revenue for both Phoenix and our contracted partners.
In her role as Contact Centre Manager Jane has continued to support people with disabilities through revenue growth within the contact centre environment.
Prior to Phoenix Jane held a number of management positions working within contact centres both here in Australia and the UK, working predominantly within the telephone sector.
Jane is married to Tony a safety engineer, they have one son.

Manny Tabone
Manager, Engineering and Maintenance
Manny holds a Proficiency Certificate in Toolmaking Engineering and a Certificate in Pneumatics and Hydraulics.
Manny has come to Phoenix bringing with him a wealth of knowledge in the Engineering and Packaging Industry. Previously holding Engineering positions in Melbourne with Ericson Communications, Nabisco, Pacific Cans, Ansett Airlines, Mildura Fruit Juice Company, Splatt Engineering, Pepsi Bottlers, and then brought over to Adelaide by Coopers Brewery in 1996 to lead their Packaging and Engineering Department.
Manny joined Phoenix Society as our Engineering and Maintenance Manager in 2005. During this time Manny has had many achievements, introducing the implementation of various machinery such as; automatic labelling and packaging lines for our new wine production, automating slotting and assembling of wine dividers, also the manufacturing of cardboard cartons.
With our employees in mind Manny has designed and built cutting, sewing and the filling of fire proof bags for a leading Australian Company of fire retardant equipment. Manny has semi- automated the filling, labelling and packaging of various food products such as, Olive Oil, Rice, Almonds, Sugar, Coffee, and Hair products. Manny has also designed and built de-labelling machinery for Wine Bottles.
As required Manny makes himself available to oversee engineering requests from the five Phoenix facilities and liaises with our customers to fulfil their various requirements.
