Phoenix Society have recently amalgamated with Bedford Group, another South Australian ADE (Australian Disability Enterprise).
Between them they have more than 120 years of combined experience and credibility in changing the lives of people with disability. This historic move created the second largest Disability Enterprise in Australia, with Bedford Phoenix now delivering employment to more than 1,300 people with disability across 14 sites as well as offering school to work transition, day options, housing and nationally accredited qualifications to hundreds more people with disability.
Phoenix Society was established in 1958 with just sixteen employees in Adelaide’s CBD.
Today Phoenix employs trains and develops people with disabilities to attain an improved quality of life to over 800 people annually through employment, School to Work Transition Programs and our Intensive Training Unit. Located across five metropolitan and one regional facility, Phoenix is seen as an industry leader in the provision of employment and services to people with disabilities.
In the community Phoenix is seen as an innovative and dynamic employer of people with disabilities that provides life changing opportunities. At Phoenix we strive to enhance each and every individual’s work-life balance and it’s this philosophy that makes Phoenix an Australian Disabilities Enterprise employer of choice.
Phoenix provides economic benefits to its employees and the economy as a whole, and provides its employees with a pathway to independence, dignity and self-determination. We offer a diverse range of opportunities for people with disabilities, in an environment that fosters personal growth and independence.
